About Us
Broward Engineering provides mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering consulting services for commercial, industrial, and residential clients. Our mission is to provide clients with quality, cost effective designs based on sound engineering practices, in line with their project needs and schedules.
Our firm has experience providing engineering services both as sub and prime-consultants. Prior project types include public schools, car dealerships, retail build-outs, office spaces, doctors offices, distribution warehouses, industrial plant processes, hotels, condos, product approvals submissions, and restaurants.

25/30 year structural & electrical building safety milestone inspections mandated by the State of Florida (FSS §553.899)

10 year recertification inspections
The State of Florida requires structural and electrical building safety inspections (milestone inspections) for many aging buildings, and understanding the difference between state and local requirements is critical. Under Florida Statutes §553.899, condominium and cooperative buildings that are three stories or higher must complete a structural milestone inspection at 30 years of age, or 25 years if located within three miles of the coast, and every 10 years thereafter.
In Broward and Miami-Dade Counties, their respective Board of Rules and Appeals expands inspection requirements beyond condos requiring most commercial, multifamily, and mixed-use buildings to undergo a Building Safety Inspection beginning at 25 yers of age, with follow-up inspections every 10 years. Smaller commercial buildings under 3,500 square feet and certain low-density residential properties are exempt.
These programs are designed to proactively identify structural and electrical safety concerns, protect occupants, and reduce long-term liability exposure. Early planning and professional evaluation can help owners avoid enforcement actions, unexpected repair costs, and insurance complications!

Engineer of record responsible for replacement of two 400 ton water cooled chillers, piping, campus heat load calculation to verify chiller size, exhaust fan replacement. Provided MEP design drawings and calculations.
Miramar Elementary School
HVAC Renovation
Client: Broward County School Board
Engineer of record responsible for replacement of two 200 ton cooled chillers, chilled water pumps, chilled water piping system, 38 fan coil units, heat load calculations, piping head loss calculations. Provided MEP design drawings and calculations.

HVAC Renovation

Converted ammonia chiller system to DX rooftop systems serving 300,000 square foot of cold storage space (65°F) and replacing air handing units serving 150,000 square foot of office space. Provided MEP design drawings and calculations.
Retail Build Out – 28 spaces
Client: Atlas Business Center, Hollywood FL
Phase I (shell) and phase II (tenant build out) MEP design drawings and calculations. Replace existing electrical service with new 2200 amp service and switchgear. Heat load calculations for all spaces. Exposed duct design for all spaces.

Industrial Cooling Process
Client: Panda Generators, Pompano Beach FL
Engineer of record charged with designing a cooling system to cool multiple generators being tested. Cooling tower, storage tank, pump, piping, and controls. Also added a backup generator to the 50,000 SF building.
Industrial Process Plant Install
Client: Tropical Roofing, Hallandale FL
Engineer of record responsible for designing a silicon manufacturing plant with an industrial chiller to cool mixing process, office space, raw material tank installation and piping, compressed air piping design, exhaust system design, machine vibration analysis and equipment base design, design and analysis of custom ship ladder. Provided MEP design drawings and calculations.

Executed an arc flash study to update arc flash labels throughout the flight simulator training facility. 4000 amp service.
